We want to acknowledge our partners and encourage you to check them out.

We couldn't do this without them and we can't do it without you.

Austin Watershed Protection

Watershed Protection oversees the land we are hoping to plant on and has been invaluable through the years with guidance and suggestions. This started with conversations with AWP (Leah & Sarah) that have been going on for years. Thanks, ladies, for helping us make this happen.

Plus the trees.....they're helping us with many things but the trees are the center of it all.

Austin Watershed Protection protects lives, property and the environment of our community by reducing the impact of flooding, erosion and water pollution.

TreeFolks

Working with Watershed Protection, TreeFolks is assisting with finding the trees we are hoping for and will suggest alternatives if our first picks aren't available. TreeFolks has worked with Central Texans for years to help build stronger communities through planting and caring for trees.

Neighborhood Partnering Program

NPP is walking us through the process and assisting with funding, permitting and various other needed items. They are showing us what we need to do to obtain approvals, etc.

Fruitful Commons

Partnering with us a our fiscal sponsor, Fruitful Commons has shared their extensive knowledge and experience with the Orchard Team. Their partnership allows us to accept donations that are tax deductible, and more importantly, their guidance has helped keep us focused, on track and sane.

National Park Service

The National Park Service’s Rivers, Trails & Conservation Assistance Program (RTCA) provides technical assistance for community conservation and recreation projects. RTCA has supported the project with outreach and online engagement since 2025. If you have a great community protect that could benefit from assistance, find out more about the program here: https://www.nps.gov/rtca/.

Austin Parks Foundation

APF has been with us from the beginning. This land is not parkland and APF has helped steer us to the appropriate agencies to get this done.

Austin Climate Action & Resilience

Working with Travis County, Austin Climate Action & Resilience helped develop the Austin & Travis County Food Plan, which we are attempting to aid by providing access to free, fresh fruit (& eventually vegetables ) to our Austin neighbors.

Special thanks to:

Sara "Sari" Albornoz, a current employee AWP who wrote her master thesis on our neighborhood following up on early conversations when these plans were just being kicked around by neighbors and City partners. Sari's work has given us invaluable guidance on what will work in our unique neighborhood.

If anyone is interested in reading that thesis, please check it out here: Thesis

This land is unique in that it is a known flood plain and there are restrictions regarding what we can and cannot do. Thank you, Sari, for your plan. I hope we do justice to your ideas.
